Lemon Zest

I am an avid coffee drinker. I still have yet to stop that yet and I'm not sure that I ever will, but what I do know? When I started drinking this every morning it helped me tremendously. Lemon naturally alkalizes your body and reduces inflammation. When you drink it in room temperature water it supports "waking up" your organs, especially your kidneys and your liver. Lemon also helps to aid in digestion AND clean out your lymphatic system, which is basically the system that cleans out all the garbage from your body. Who knew one little fruit was good for so many things other than lemonade? I didn't. Now when you add in ginger, that helps to also aid in digestion and reduce bloat. Apple cidar is known for a host of wonderful things including the same; reducing bloat and alkalizing the body. Raw honey is a natural antibiotic and can help to maintain your immune system. Since I suffer from irritable bowel syndrome it's been a great addition for me and I hope that it will be for you.

The night before, I put out a bottle of water on the counter and then go to bed.

Ingredients:

- bottle of spring water (or filtered water)

- juice from a half lemon. Do not use the stuff you can buy in the grocery store in a bottle. It has been processed and has additives. Make sure it is organic and non-GMO if possible to keep it as clean as possible. I can get 4 lemons for a $1 at my local farmers market so it's worth it.

- 2 tsp of Bragg's Apple Cidar Vinegar

- 2 tsp raw organic honey (I usually get this from my local farmer's market, too. If it is truly raw and organic you may even see wings in it sometimes, but it's worth it)

- 1/2 tsp of ground ginger (or you can do 1/2" cut of raw. I can never seem to over the taste of raw ginger. It burns my throat for some reason).

Directions:

- Cut lemon in half and squeeze the juice directly into your bottle for glass of water.

- Add in the rest of the ingredients and shake in a bottle or stir with a spoon in a cup.

-Consume.

-Have a super awesome day!

It's that simple. Literally. And trust me, you will feel better for it. I don't go a day without it now. It's a must! I drink it while I wait for my coffee to finish. And a lot of times I only drink about half of the bottle, so I will sip on it again at lunch time. I simply put the bottle back into the fridge.
